A one girl initiative

Do It In a Dress

I'm wearing a school dress so a girl in Africa can wear one too.

Hi. I'm Darren.

At this year's ProBlogger Event I'll wear a dress to raise money for an amazing cause!

Here's what I'll do:

1. if we raise $240 I'll come to the last session of Day #1 in a dress to do the summing up for the day (this is now already reached).

2. if we raise $480 I'll change my Twitter avatar to a picture of me... in a dress and leave it that way for a week.

3. if we raise over $960 (sending 4 girls to school) Shayne Tilley (web marketing ninja) will join me on stage at PBEVENT - also in a school dress.

4. At $1200 (5 girls) I'll wear a wig on stage.... while wearing the dress.

5. At $2400 (10 girls) I'll allow Andrea Zanetich to apply red lipstick to my lips.

The higher you go the more I'll do!

We helped 10 girls go to school!!!!

thanks to everyone who has donated so far. We reached my goal of $2400 in donations (although I didn't have to wear the lipstick because I topped it up at the end) and I did wear the dress (with my good friend Shayne Tilley giving some moral support and doing it too) at PBEVENT in front of 300 people (and the rest of the internet as the pics went a little viral).

Here's how I looked!

I know - I look like a school girl who has had a very very hard life....

Thanks everyone for your support!

Got a Challenge?

We're underway already with our first donation of $240 in already (thanks @BeachCottage).

At present this means I'm going to be wearing a dress to PBEVENTs final session of Day#1 - and we're halfway to me changing my twitter handle...

But after that I'm looking for some dares! If you have one there's an area on the right hand side of this page where you can leave a comment via Facebook - make your suggestions there and I'll pick one.

It started with a tweet

Imagine my surprise when a simple tweet from Chantelle Baxter (Do it In a Dress Founder) contained this picture.

The rest as they say is history!
